 Andray
is 9 years old and battling severe sickle cell anemia, a blood disorder
which causes blood cells to become disk-shaped and blocked in the blood
vessels. This condition results in severe pain, serious
infections, and organ damage. Andray’s wish was to go to Walt
Disney World with his family. A Special Wish Foundation was able
to make his Special Wish happen this summer with a trip to Central
Florida over his birthday. Andray and his family were picked up
in a limousine and taken to the airport to spend a week at Give Kids a
World Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, a very special resort for children
with life-threatening illnesses. They received tickets to all the
parks and special attractions of Central Florida, including Disney
World, Universal Studios, and Sea World. Andray and his brother
especially enjoyed the meeting all the characters at Universal Studios
and getting to pet the dolphins at Sea World.
A Special Wish
Foundation is a United Way Partner Agency that addresses the Impact
area of Health by improving the quality of life for
children with terminal, life-threatening, and severe illnesses.
