Sandy Williams, Director, United Way's HelpLink 2-1-1
Sandy WilliamsSandy Williams is the Director, United Way's HelpLink 2-1-1 for United Way of the Greater Dayton Area.  Sandy has been with our local United Way for more than 30 years; she started as a researcher before moving over to HelpLink's predecessor (then known simply as "I&R").  As the program director for HelpLink 2-1-1, Sandy oversees the day to day operations of this 24-hour a day, 7-days a week service provided to our community.  Additionally, she serves on a variety of boards and committees to assist with the program, including the Ohio AIRS Board, the Montgomery County Collaborative Partners, Montgomery County Hunger Coalition, Montgomery County Homeless Solutions, and the Support Services Alliance.  Before Sandy joined the United Way staff, she worked in early childhood education, but she has always known that her calling in life was to be a social worker.

Sandy is a native Daytonian and still calls the city home to this day.  Her favorite holiday is Christmas, which is good, considering that she has a large family that includes her mother, three siblings, a stepdaughter, three grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In her spare time, Sandy enjoys gardening and planting flowers.  She enjoys working with the elderly, and she is actively involved with her church.  She loves gospel music, and she is a longtime member of her church choir.
