Allen ElijahAllen H. Elijah is the President and CEO for United Way of the Greater Dayton Area.  Formerly, Mr. Elijah was the Vice President of Resource Development and Chief Operating Officer for the local United Way.  Mr. Elijah oversees the fundraising and community impact work of United Way in Montgomery, Greene and Preble Counties.  Mr. Elijah represents United Way with the organization’s many stakeholders and constituent groups.  Mr. Elijah also provides overall professional leadership for United Way, working closely with the Board of Directors and other volunteers.

A graduate of the University of Dayton School of Business Management, Mr. Elijah has a wealth of leadership and senior management experience.  He moved to United Way from Wright Dunbar Inc. where he was Director of Projects and Programs.  He managed revitalization and redevelopment of the historic Wright Brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar Business Village.  His professional career includes positions at Computer Sciences Corporation, Fifth Third Bank, Monsanto Research Corporation and the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.  Mr. Elijah has held an elected position as a Jefferson Township Trustee.

His community involvement includes the Dayton Development Coalition Priority Development Advocacy Committee (PDAC), Leadership Dayton 2008, 2005 Top Ten African American Male honoree Parity Incorporated, Montgomery County Developmental Disabilities Services, Montgomery County Community Investment Committee board member, Junior League of Dayton Community Advisory Board member, and Chaminade Julienne Board of Trustees.  Mr. Elijah is the founder of the Morton-Hathcock Leadership Scholars Program at the University of Dayton.
