What
(and when) is Community Care Day?
Community Care Day is a United Way sponsored event connecting local
volunteers to community service projects at sites throughout Montgomery,
Greene and Preble Counties. Volunteers provide the manpower and
elbow grease to complete projects for agencies and clients who lack
the resources to complete them on their own. Community Care Day
is held annually on the first Friday in June. This year it will
be held on June 2, 2006.
Why
should my company participate in Community Care Day?
Community Care Day is a great team-building activity for local companies.
Employees get the opportunity to bond and work together in a different
environment and leave feeling good about themselves, their co-workers
and employer. Community Care Day is a great way to empower your
employees to volunteer in their communities. Also, your employees
will see first-hand how their United Way donations are changing
lives within the three-county service area. The event increases
a sense of community pride and encourages the spirit of volunteerism.
It is a great tool for showing your organization’s support
of community-wide initiatives.
